Nice Job! (And thanks for honoring one of MegaMan X's most memorable villains!!)
Gaaaaaaate! Gah, I hated this guy! His boss fight was fundamentally unfair and frustrating. My hat's off to anybody who enjoyed the fight with Gate, aside from that glorious feeling of triumph when you win and all that's left are the significantly easier Sigma battles... I'm sure I'd share the enjoyment of his character if it weren't surrounded in... well... Mega Man X6. I enjoy a fair challenge, not an unfair one, so again, my hat's off to the people who liked X6 for being unbearably difficult by incomplete design.
*Ahem* Somehow, this take on him seems... younger? I dunno. Perhaps his proportions are slightly more childish, and he looks a hair shorter. It's mostly with his battle form that it really sticks out. Maybe it's just because of the giant shoulder pads and cape, and I'm insane, or something along those lines. And... is his left shoulder differently-shaped than his right in his battle form? Or is that just the perspective?
Gate really was an interesting villain, shame he died :I
It's just I'm noticing a trend that starts with the X-series: even when the government isn't the bad guys, they're still not completely legit, either. (although they often ARE the bad guys) Ever since politics and ideologies really started getting going, the rights of the weak have been trampled. Makes for a good backdrop for Sigma's "survival of the fittest", X's Neo Arcadia, and Model W's "New World" spiels, to say nothing of the Sage Trinity.
I love how the capes and character focal directions give this a sort-of yin-yang look.
Poor, poor Gate.
